new Delhi. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has asked schools to present the art learning process as a fearless activity where a student can demonstrate their art without fear that it is being assessed .

The 84-page ‘Art Integrated Learning’ (AIL) guideline prepared by the NCERT for art teachers of schools states that do not comment on a child’s artistic abilities, do not compare children’s art work, View as a process and not as a result and art should be considered as a medium rather than a subject.

It said, ‘The teacher should not reflect his prejudices nor promote an attitude that disrupts interaction with the student. The assessment activity should be satisfactory, in which every child gets equal opportunity for participation and is identified without having to compete with each other. The guidelines have been prepared by a team of teachers in collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia based on a year-long study conducted in 34 municipal schools.
